What Is a Mobile Notary?

A mobile notary public is a state-commissioned notary who travels to the client instead of working from a fixed office. In Texas, a notary public is authorized by the Secretary of State to witness the signing of important documents, administer oaths, and take acknowledgments. A mobile notary simply brings that service to wherever you are — your kitchen table, your office conference room, or even a hospital bedside.

PrimeSeal Business Solutions is a fully mobile notary service based in Forney, TX, serving Dallas, Mesquite, Rockwall, Fort Worth, and the entire DFW metroplex. Our notary signing agent, Andrea, is Texas-commissioned, certified through Huckleberry Notary Bonding, Inc., and carries Errors & Omissions insurance for your peace of mind.

Who Needs a Mobile Notary?

Almost anyone involved in a transaction that requires a notarized signature. Mobile notary services are especially valuable for real estate closings, loan signings, powers of attorney, affidavits, and legal documents that must be executed under oath. Here are the most common situations where clients call PrimeSeal:

  • Homebuyers and sellers closing on a property
  • Borrowers refinancing a mortgage or signing a HELOC
  • Families executing a power of attorney or healthcare directive

What You Need to Bring

Preparation is simple. Having these items ready ensures your appointment goes smoothly and is completed quickly.

Appointment checklist
  • Valid government-issued photo ID — Texas driver's license, state ID, US passport, or military ID. The name on your ID must match the name on your documents exactly.
  • All signers present — Every person whose signature requires notarization must be physically present at the appointment with their own valid ID. A notary cannot notarize for someone who is not there.
  • Unsigned documents — For general notarizations, bring your documents unsigned. Never sign before the notary arrives. For loan signings, documents are sent directly to PrimeSeal by your lender or title company.
  • A quiet, well-lit location — A table and chairs in a comfortable setting. Your dining room, office, or a conference room works perfectly.

How Pricing Works

PrimeSeal's notarial fees are set by Texas law under Government Code § 406.024. Acknowledgments are $10 for the first signature and $1 for each additional signature. Oaths and affirmations are $10 each, including certificate and seal. These are the maximum fees a Texas notary may charge per notarial act.

In addition to the notarial fee, a travel fee applies based on your location within our service area. Zone 1 (Dallas, Mesquite, Forney) is +$50. Zone 2 (Rockwall and surrounding areas) is +$75. Zone 3 (Fort Worth and beyond) is +$100. After-hours and rush appointments add a $100 surcharge to the total.

What Happens During the Signing?

When your notary arrives, the process is straightforward. First, your notary will verify the identity of every signer using a government-issued photo ID. For loan signings, the notary will have already reviewed the full document package and placed signature tabs on every page that requires your attention.

Next, the notary walks you through each document, explains where to sign and initial, and answers any questions about the signing process. The notary cannot provide legal advice about the content of the documents, but will make sure you understand what you are signing and where.

Once every signature is in place, the notary applies the official Texas notary seal and completes a journal entry for each notarial act performed. For loan signings, the completed package is returned to the lender or title company the same day, typically within hours of the appointment.
